Published by George P. He remembered the author being a jockey before he began writing and most details were correct, but I could find no correlation between that little scenario he described and any book by Dick Francis. Originally 8 x 15 mins, this has at some time been compressed into a single file of about 87 mins. Straight by Dick Francis
Published by Pan Books Limited. Investing open sub categories. The hero, in general, is unswervingly honorable, unquestionably decent, unabashedly straight. Film open sub categories. We read him for his precise use of the language, for rounded characters, for his skill at suspense and for the authentic trip he gives us through the world of steeplechase racing. One of the best Dick Francis books , from start to finish a great read ,a great story teller.
You learn so much about the subject of the story as well as enjoying a rattling good read. Dick Francis at his best! I like many of your top ten books but there are others there that linger—perhaps I need to do a massive re-read too. Balanced against the sensuality that courses through "Straight," bursting out even from the title--which refers to many things, including the main character's sexuality--is the flip side of physical pleasure: Jockey Derek Franklin is recovering from a steeplechase injury when he receives word that his brother is in the hospital and not expected to survive. Dick Francis never fails to provide thrillers that grip you till the very end.
